Spring has always been a time when the world gets ready for another year ahead – the so called “spring cleaning”. It is a great time for all owners of animals to “think ahead” and get ready for the oncoming warm and hot months as well as the time of celebrations and holidays such as Christmas and the associated school holidays. Grooming is important for all long and thick coated dogs and cats. Now is the time to make sure your animal’s coat is short to allow the skin to “breathe” as well as allow your animal to enjoy our warm days without overheating. Consider a deep cleansing hydrobath to get rid of any build up of “crud” such as sebaceous gland secretions, dead skin, entrapped undercoat etc that occurs over the winter months when our animals have a thicker coat to protect them during the cold days and nights. Our grooming department specialises in hydrobathing dogs (and sometimes cats) – using the best of shampoos and conditioners to make sure your animal’s skin is protected from the use of harsh chemicals.
