Dr Sheridan is currently hand raising a baby blue and gold macaw. While he may look a bit ugly (in a cute kind of way!) at the moment he will one day grow into a large and beautiful bird.

At the moment Dr Sheridan is keeping him in a temperature controlled incubator and he is getting 3 hourly feeds. It is keeping her very busy but the reward will be a healthy and well cared for bird!

Dr Sheridan will be regularly updating this page with new photos and events in the little birds life, who she has nicknamed Hooty. His eyes are still closed over and he can barely hold himself up but he is gaining weight every day.

Little Hooty just keeps growing! He (or she!) is now 44 days old and weighs 850grams. His feathers have all started breaking through and some have even opened to reveal grey fluff.  Dr Sheridan is also falling more and more in love with him each day! He is also developing more personality and enjoys playing with his ball and trying new foods. And also thinks it is funny to spit his hand rearing mix back up at his human mummy. Ive added a new photo now that he is older and looks more like a bird than a dinosaur!
